FORMAL intends to nearly double the size of a budget hotel in Camborne have-been submitted to Cornwall Council.
In April, the West Briton reported that a request for pre-application advice had been submit by Premier Inn with a view to growing its hotel at Treswithian.
The resort monster has now returned with a software for planning authorization for the work with a proposed two storey resort block extension and increase in-car parking spaces.
If given the green light the proposal would see a two-storey 47 bedroom extension within site, representing a growth of 45 rooms, taking the final amount to 110 post-development.
Currently the Premier Inn has 121 parking bays; this could be increased by 44 to 165, that nine is designated for handicapped motorists.
The plans were at first welcomed by the president of company Improvement District (BID) Camborne, George Le search who's adamant the proposition could simply be the best thing when it comes to town.

"Camborne is a main place to stay, only a brief drive from most locations including both coasts.
"The Premier Inn is going to be competing with all the Wetherspoon resort with regards to opens up and folks moan, but these businesses would not select Camborne if there wasn't company inside city.
"The fact that more folks tend to be going to Camborne can also be great news for neighborhood companies."
